Congratulations Matt Kelley of Cape Cod.
Not only graduating Vanderbilt University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, but also part of The Aeronautics Club, winners of 2016 NASA Rocket Launch of the year.
This 11 minute video shows highlights of a ceremony for the engineer students held May 12th, 2 hours after a severe thunderstorm drenched Nashville TN. Friday the 13th the weather could not have been nicer, perfect sunshine.. photos from VU commencement and then a few minutes of what happens on Honky Tonk row, Nashville is a party city!
Unless you are part of our family, this video is probably pretty boring, even you are in the family.. it’s not exactly riveting. It’s Rocket Science and partying.
Here’s the winning Launch too..

Vanderbilt student rocketeers have won NASA’s Orbital-ATK University Student Launch competition for the fourth year in a row. They had to beat out 40 other university teams in the year-long national competition in order to achieve this “four-pete,” making the rocketry team the most successful team in Vanderbilt history.”
