Northern Vermont has just passed Maine & Michigan as the snow capitol of the east. Our man about the Back Country in Montgomery Vermont sends out this missive..
Josh: “That storm hit us hard and heavy up here on the Northern Spine. 16-24″ fell depending on where you look above 2500′. 9″ here at the lodge (400′); Jay Peak got 16-20”, but the snowbelt spots like Big Jay and Cold Hollows closer to 2 feet. Lifts were closed all day today due to wind so expect there to be a wind buff out there, but the trees will be sweet for some time; especially tomorrow. That should about do it for the BC — pretty filled in at this point. Hopefully this base holds cause we’re set up very nicely. Northern VT is a great place to be right now if you like making deep turns!!”
